Back To The Living

After two weeks being ill I’m feeling much better especially at the correct time. Two weeks ago sitting with my mother and my wife, I stated sneezing and I couldn’t stop. The next morning I had a full blown cold, stuffed nose, sore head and the beginning of a cough. I was suppose to go at my grandson Seth’s birthday but that was out. For three days I felt like, well you know how I felt like s**t. At night I couldn’t sleep and during the day I sleep on and off. It had to be something more then a cold.  After 4 days I began to get out of a funk but I still couldn’t get this junk out of my throat and was stilling coughing. Being a tough guy I decided to fight through and thought I could handle it by myself. That was a mistake. I finally went to see the doctor and he found I had bronchitis and my lungs were heavy. He gave me an antibiotic and since I began taking the stuff I’ve begun to come back to the living. Thank God. Tomorrow I go and get my cruise documents and materials. I;m so ready to go. I bought a brand new suit, tuxedo shirt, bow tie, two new pair of slacks, just for the cruise. I’m ready to go.

This my cruise ship I’ll be on. I was on the Carnival  Freedom in 2008 and I thoroughly enjoyed my time on this ship. I’m looking forward to enjoying another wonderful cruise.

A New Year

Well now that 2012 has finally entered our life, I wonder what will be thrust upon us. The Republican Presidential choices are being seen every day. I wonder what my friend Charlie is thinking with the results of the Iowa caucus? Why doesn’t Charlie run for president? I think he would great for it and I’m not joking my friend. You have all the intelligence if not more then the other individuals that are running. I would vote for you my friend.

It’s amazing around here, temperature of 52 degrees on January. One of these days we are going to be hit with a vicious snow storm. I hope it’s not just before I leave for my cruise. After my plane leaves on February 11th, 07:30 and has been up in the air, It can snow and snow and more snow if it wants. By then I’ll be  in the air aiming for Ft. Lauderdale and planning to be on my ship, Carnival Freedom.

Yesterday I went and bought a fantastic suit. It was black with thin lines, also a tuxedo shirt and bow tie ( all of this to bring on my cruise ). I had my beautiful wife buy herself a new outfit at Christmas and that was also to bring on our cruise. Each year on the ship we like to buy one photo of us together and this year it should look great.

So far so good, everyone is feeling great. On Saturday night the families get together to celebrate my grandson Seth’s 2nd birthday. I’ve now been given 5 beautiful grandchildren. I never thought I would be a grandfather as well be alive since my stroke but God has allowed me to enjoy a wonder life with my wife, family, cruising, knowing new people as well as having 5 lovely grandchildren.

One important thing of this new year and that is having my mother still with us. Being 84 years old and having some illnesses lately, I’m happy to still have her with us. So far in this new year life is good.

The Day After.

Wow, it’s all done for this year except for the yelling, laughing and the crying. We  had a great Christmas. I received some wonderful gifts. I now will have the time to read three large enthusiastic type books, one small book about my dad, all pictures throughout his life. When I checked it out, I have to let you know that I cried throughout the book. This was given to me by beautiful wife. Also 4 glasses that had the faces of the Beatles, fantastic. On Christmas Eve my football team, the Detroit Lions finally made the playoffs since 1999 and on Christmas morning I received a team jersey of number 81,

and my grandson Cole has the same jersey. We look great together. My wife, well I told her to go out and get an outfit so that she could wear for our cruise and wow did she get one. She looks beautiful. The entire family did very well this year. God helped us all to enjoy another wonderful Christmas. Now I’m very tired and I need much needed sleep. Good night my friends
